Now, I can't really explain why, but for some reason press reaction about the yearly appearance of the Glömp monster are zero to none.
Undeservedly so, because I would assume that when somebody puts out a 300 plus page fullcolour comics anthology that gathers the prominent names of the current art comics scene worldwide, at least somebody would write an article or at least a review about it. So far I have not seen it and it just makes me wonder.
Quality is abundant and the stories of Lilly Care and Amanda Vähämäki were my personal highlights. If you are more into visual exploits then the pages of Roope Eronen, Jan Anderzen (the guru of the finnish psych folk scene (kemiäläiset ystävät)) or the south Korean artist whose name I cannot recall are stunning. You know ofcourse that with an anthology there are always things you might not like at first and will read only last but the cool thing with Glömp is that its the kind of book that can lay on your reading table forever and you can always return to and discover again some nice detail.
Now, to come to the heart of the matter, and to give you an extra reason to buy this, Glömp is edited and published by one person who is now facing financial bankruptcy after receiving the printing bill. We are talking about a sum with which I could easily live for one year (smallprint: in Romania). Normally I would hate it to ask somebody to buy something in order to support the cause but in this case I have no shame.
So Glömp 9, 25 euros and its yours

A personal diary of Thompsons travels through Europe and Morocco in the spring of 2004. Carnet de Voyage has a very spontaneous and honest feeling to it. To his credit i must also mention that Thompson didn't use any cameras for this books, so all sketched are quickly drawn by hand, at the spot and not corrected.
