To start with an anecdote, when Tommi Musturi and I were planning our Huuda Huuda company one of the books we discussed that would be cool to publish was maggots. Precisely because it had been lost (Highwater went bankrupt) and to start a company with that book, that would have surely put us on the map, worldwide. Unfortunately, getting hold of the right person (Brian Chippendale) was a bit more difficult then planned and then when we heard Ninja was going to be published by Picturebox we let it go and focused on Jeffrey Brown.
Anyway, so what is this book about then. Almost entirely wordless, the maggots is about a bunch of people living in a place called Fort thunder who discover in their home all sorts of strange entrances to other universes.
The linework and intensity is so dense because Chippendale dréw this story in a Japanese art catalogue and he had to cover up what was already printed in the catalogue!
