Very beautiful looking smallpress mini, glued not stapled together. Actually paid for by the art school Anna-Kaisa is studying in. This is a collaborator with Emma Willis and is simply a diary with drawings of the garden of both authors and all the plants they managed to grow for one year.
Looks really nice and reads like an exciting weatherreport. On top of that, it is just a great collection of tips on how to turn your backyard wasteland into a flourishing vegetable garden.
Funny stuff in here as well, as Anna-Kaisa is an eco warrior with a mission. For example, an effective tool against cats intruding in the garden turned out to be lion's faeces. But it wasn't approved by Anna-Kaisa. I quote :" A.K. wasn't sure she wanted to support the zoo even if it was by buying lion dung". But hey, who am I to mock, i am a vegan housecook myself...
A word from the authors:
"In the greyness of mid-winter we were dreaming of a garden full of colourfull flowers and tasty organic vegetables. During the spring and summer these dreams were put into action. The Garden Sketchbook is a story of how we transformed our neglected back yard into an allotment.
Anna-Kaisa Laine is a Finnish artist and illustrator. While making this book, she shared a house and a garden with her friend Emma Wills in Cornwall, U.K."
Comes with a bag of seeds!
